Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Freelance WordPress Developer to assist us with an exciting project scheduled for January 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining captivating and user-friendly WordPress websites that align with clients' requirements. As a Freelance WordPress Developer, you must be proficient in WordPress development, possess in-depth knowledge of front-end technologies, and have a creative approach to website design.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to understand website requirements, objectives, and target audience.
- Translate project requirements into effective and visually appealing WordPress websites, ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Design and develop custom WordPress themes, templates, and plugins to meet clients' specifications and project goals.
- Customize and extend existing WordPress functionality, utilizing appropriate HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript coding best practices.
- Ensure responsive web design principles are implemented, optimizing websites for various devices and screen sizes.
- Conduct thorough quality assurance tests to identify and resolve any bugs, issues, or performance bottlenecks.
- Maintain and update WordPress websites, including regular backups and version control.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in WordPress development and digital design.
- Collaborate with the project team to meet project deadlines and support effective communication.
- Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for WordPress websites, resolving any technical issues.
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Freelance WordPress Developer or similar role.
- Demonstrable experience in designing and developing WordPress websites from scratch.
- Strong knowledge of core WordPress functionalities, including custom post types, taxonomies, and fields.
- Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and PHP.
- Experience working with responsive web design frameworks, such as Bootstrap.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or Sketch.
- Understanding of SEO principles and implementation techniques within WordPress.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately translate designs into functioning WordPress websites.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with clients and project stakeholders.
- Availability to start in January 2024 and meet project deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field.
- Experience with WooCommerce or other WordPress e-commerce solutions.
- Knowledge of custom API integrations and third-party plugin implementation.
- Familiarity with CSS preprocessors like Sass or Less.
